Bristol Rovers suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Portsmouth pushing Rovers deeper in trouble.

Rovers put up a brave fight twice coming from behind, but a third goal from Portsmouth sent Rovers home empty handed.Rovers were dealt a further blow when Michael Smith and Danny Woodards both left the field with injuries which look like keeping the pair out for the reminder of the season.

Striker Matt Harrold twice got Rovers back in to the game but a 70th minute strike from Portsmouth sub Wes Fogden snatched the win for Portsmouth and virtually secured their Football League status.

Rovers are just outside the relegation zone on goal difference and next face Rochdale at The Memorial stadium on Easter Monday.

From us at Pompey, just to say, probably the best away support we have seen at Fratton Park. Normally we count & name them. They did you proud, hopefully you will stay up & we can play you again next season.
