Away Fans Guide: Bournemouth

A new feature at Vital Bristol Rovers, we call it the ‘Away Fans Guide’.

First off we caught up with Bournemouth Editor DJ.

Which pubs would you recommend to our fans to use during our visit to you?

The club now has its own bar dedicated to away fans called the Cherry Tree, this can be found on the same side of the ground as the ticket office nearest the temporary stand.

If not, the Queens Park which is a few minutes walk is a usual haunt for away fans.

Which pubs would you suggest we avoid for the duration of our visit?

The Wetherspoons pub in Boscombe will not let you in if you are wearing your colours.

What food do you serve at your ground? What is it like?

Traditional football food, pasties, sausage rolls, crisps and sweats. Pasties and sausage rolls are sometimes so hot they could be used as another energy source while other times I think they would be warmer if they were still defrosting.

What is your ground like?

The usual one tier, all seater and covered ground apart from one end which is the open temporary stand which will probably house Rovers fans if you intend to bring over 1,400.

Is the ground easy to find?

Yes, turn off the A338 when you see the football sign and drive straight into Kings Park.

Any suggestions of where the away fans can park?

There is a massive pay car park behind the away end.

What are the admission prices for away fans?

We have a new Gold, Silver and Bronze tiering system so I’m not entirely sure! I believe Rovers is a gold game, so it will be around £20.

How do you think you will fair this season?

Not a clue, we currently have 12 players, so will have to wait on who else we sign!

How well do you think Bristol Rovers will do this season?

Teams coming up from League Two normally do ok, flirt with the playoffs and finish mid-table, so i`d expect Rovers to do the same.

Who do you think are your key players this season?

There will be quite a lot of expectation on Darren Anderton, Neil Moss and new signing Jo Kuffour.

Finally Who do you think will win the league?

Could be anyone as Scunny, Colchester and Luton have previously proved but I think Forest will be too strong this year.

Many thanks DJ
