Bristol Rovers are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Billy Bodin in the three one victory over Blackpool at the weekend at the Memorial Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bodin was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Another to register a goal and an assist, Bodin helped his Bristol Rovers side defeat Blackpool, who were unbeaten in seven prior to their visit to the Memorial Stadium. The winger drilled home a 13th goal in 17 home matches to put the Gas in front, and he curled in a delightful cross for Ryan Sweeney to head home the second of a 3-1 win.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Bodin for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Joe Murphy (Bury), Danny Grainger (Carlisle United), Yoann Barbet (Brentford), Oliver Lancashire (Swindon Town), Tony McMahon (Bradford City), Jodi Jones (Coventry City), Erhun Oztumer (Walsall), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Kieffer Moore (Rotherham United), Junior Morais (Peterborough United).
