Darrell Clarke handed a debut to new loan signing Adam Cunnington who partnered Matty Taylor up front.

Clarke was also forced into a change at the back as Mark McChrystall was ruled out though injury, so Neal Trotman came into the heart of the defence. Steve Mildenhall was on hand to save well, but it was Rovers who nearly took the lead when Neal Trotman hit the cross bar half way through the first half.

The first half was a scrappy affair but Rovers were on top and got better in the the second half and Rovers deservedly took the lead when Ollie Clarke smashed home from 25 yards out. Hedge in the Telford goal then saved well from a Mansell free kick and had to be alert to stop Adam Cunnington scoring on his debut.

Next up for Rovers is a trip to Forest Green Rovers on Bank Holiday Monday. Rovers moved up to 15th after yesterday’s win.
