Rovers were forced into a few changes ahead of the League Two clash against Crewe. Patterson and Carayol both missed out through injury, Craig Stanley and Chris Zebroski, both miss out and are on the bench.

There is a return to the side for defender Aaron Downes, while Michael Smith, Eliot Richards and Matt Gill all start. Rovers got off to a terrible start going 2-0 down inside the first six minutes. Ajay Leitch-Smith’s deflected effort and a Kevin Mellor header put the hosts 2-0 up. Eliott Richards and Gary Sawyer both had good efforts on goal that went either wide or was well saved by former Rovers and Bristol City keeper Steve Phillips.

The second half started the same as the first, Harry Davis made it 3-0 from the spot after Cian Bolger brought down Nick Powell in the penalty area. Rovers next face Burton Albion at home on Saturday.
