Defeat Again For Rovers

John Ward made one change to the side that lost to Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night, Eliot Richards missed out through injury so Chris Beardsley was recalled to the starting line up.

It took the league leaders just five minutes to take the lead, Morsy met Eoin Doyle’s cut-back to put Chesterfield 1-0 up after just five minutes. Rovers were struggling against the league leaders and the normally tight defence was look shaky, but against the run of play through Lee Browns brilliant curled effort from the edge of the area.

But goals either side of half time was to much for Rovers who once again struggled in front of goal, Ollie Banks turned in Gary Roberts cross and then at the start of the second half Roberts caught Tom Parkes in possession and found Doyle free who made it 3-1.

Next up for Rovers is a tough home clash against promotion chasing Oxford United who sut in third place in League Two. Rovers dropped to to 21st in League Two just one point above the relegation zone.
