John Ward recalled Joe Anyinsah back in to the starting line up in place of the unlucky Ellis Harisson.

In what was a scrappy first half Rovers did have the best chance, striker Elliot Richard saw his 25 yard strike pushed on to the post by the Chesterfield keeper after just 9 minutes. Rovers looked pretty comfortable at the back in the first half, Steve Mildenhall had very little to do.

Chesterfield pushed forward in the second half and took the lead 8 minutes in. Lee Brown’s clearance only reached O’Shea on the edge of the area and the midfielder smashed a shot into Mildenhall’s top right corner. The lead was doubled thanks to Armand Gnanduillet’s low strike from inside the box after he found room in the area. Richard did have another shot well saved late on,but Rovers struggled to create any reall efforts on goal.

Rovers are in 17th in League Two, 8 points above the relegation zone. Next up is a tough game at The Memorial Stadium against second placed Port Vale on Tuesday night.
