Defender Mark McChrystal has signed a new deal to stay at Bristol Rovers.

The 28 year old centre back has agreed a new two year deal to keep him at The Memorial Stadium. The former Tranmere Rovers player was signed by Ward until the end of the season and became an instant hit amongst Gasheads after forming a solid partnership at the heart of the Rovers defence along side captian Tom Parkes.

McChrystal also had a loan spell with League One side Scunthorpe united before he moved to Rovers in January and made 21 appearances for Rovers this season.
