Bristol Rovers Manager John Ward handed a start to Oumare Tounkara and also recalled German Fabian Broghammer.

Rovers got off to an electric start going 2-0 up inside the first 5 minutes. First John Joe O’Toole fired home from close range, then just 60 seconds later Oumare Tounkara ran onto a long ball over the top and rounded goalkeeper Miles and slotted the ball in to the empty net. Tounkara nearly added a third for Rovers but his shot cannoned back off the post. Rovers did get third just 4 minutes later when Danny Woodards side footed home to make it 3-0 after just 20 minutes. Dagenham pulled one back when Medy Eliot slotted home from close range after a good save from Conor Gough.

Tounkara got his second and Rovers fourth on 70 minutes when he smashed home his shot after good work from strike partner Ryan Brunt. Jake Reed then tapped home Femi Ilesanmi’s cross to make it 4-2. Rovers are up to 13th in League after today’s win just one point out of the top half of the table. Next up for Rovers is a home tie against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Rovers will be with out Tom Parkes who will be suspended for one game after picking up his tenth yellow card of the season, John Joe O’Toole played his last game today and has returned to Colchester United. Ward will also have injury worries over keeper Steve Mildenhall was injured in the warm up and left back Lee Brownn who went off injured at half time,
