Bristol Rovers secured their second home win of the season beating Torquay United.

Striker Derek Riordan was again missing through injury so Mark McGhee named the same starting eleven that drew with Burton last week. Rovers took the lead through striker Tom Eaves who is on loan from Bolton, the 20 year chipped the ball over the oncoming Michael Poke to but Rovers 1-0 up on 15 minutes. Just 2 minutes later Matt Lund hit home a free kick from the edge of the area. Torquay went down to 10 men when Joe Oastler sent off for a second bookable offence.

Torquay struck back in the second half hitting two goals in 6 minutes, both goals came through former Rovers players. Rene Howe curled home then Aaron Downes headed the away side level. Rovers stepped up the pressure again and got back into the lead when Tom Eaves scored his second of the game slotting home Wayne Browns pass.

Rovers moved up to 20th in League Two and next face AFC Wimbledon away on Tuesday night.
