Rory Gaffney has today signed a new deal and will remain a Bristol Rovers player.

The 27 year old had today been linked with a move back to Ireland with Sligo Rovers keen on bnringing him to their club, but Gaffney has today his contract that was offered to him at the end of the season. He finished the season with nine goals in 27 starts this season, he also made another 14 appearances from the bench.

Gaffney was initially signed on loan from League Two side Cambridge United and made an instant impact scoring five goals in just six starts. Rovers made Gaffney’s move permanent and the striker went on to score another three times that season.

Gaffney is the second player to sign a new contract today after winger Ryan Broom also signed his this afternoon. Just Ellis Harrison and Alfie Kilgour left to decode their futures.
