Midfielder Matt Gill has joined League Two side tranmere rovers as a Player Coach.

Gill who left Rovers to join Exeter City half way through last season has signed a one year contract with Tranmere. The 33 year old midfielder is closing in on 500 appearances and still hopes to play first team football this season. He suffered with injury in his time with Rovers and only managed 45 starts in his two and a half years with the club.

Gill is the second ex Rovers player to join Tranmere, yesterday striker Eliot Richards signed a two year deal with the club.
