Bristol Rovers were knocked out of the F.A Cup in the Third Round at the hands of Birmingham City last night 3-0.

A goal in the first half from Paul Robinson and two towards the end of the second half from Chris Burke sealed the win for the Championship side and set up a Fourth Round Clash against Premiership side Swansea City, but Birmingham Manager Lee Clark praised the nearly 3,000 travelling Gasheads.

“As a manager when you are coming up against lower league opposition, there`s the fear factor you don`t want to be one of those shocks.

“You don`t want to have the wrong approach because Bristol have got nothing to lose.

“They enjoyed coming there, the support they had was phenomenal.’

Rovers are back to League action on Saturday when they travel to York City.

I remember an FA Cup in freezing, foggy conditions at Villa Park in the 90’s – super Gas support then. Got a soft spot for the gas ever since.
