Manager Mark McGhee was left disappointed by his players effort in their 4-0 away defeat to Port Vale.

Rovers poor run of form continued last night with another disappointing display and make felt it was the players that let him down. McGhee said: ‘Too many of my players let us down and didn’t compete well enough, particularly early in the game.

‘The forwards didn’t work hard enough to keep the ball up the pitch and that had a knock-on effect on our midfield players and then our defenders.

‘We allowed Vale to get behind us far too easily and it just wasn’t good enough.’

Last nights defeat means that Rovers have only one once in the last seven games, a 3-2 home win over Chesterfield and have slipped to 21st in League Two just one point out of the relegation zone and two points of bottom placed Barnet.
