Former Bristol Rovers Manager Mark McGhee has been named as assistant manager to Gordon Strachan.

Strachan has just been named as Scotland Manager and has acted quickly to appoint McGhee as his assistant. McGhee was sacked by Rovers on December 15th after losing 4-1 to York City. He was only in charge at Rovers for less than a year, but did help pull Rovers away from the bottom of League Two during the second half of last season after Paul Buckle was sacked.

McGhee only won 12 games out of 45 whilst in charge at Bristol Rovers. His previous spell as Manager was at Scottish Premier side Aberdeen, he was also sacked after a poor run of results.
