Mildenhall Set To Join Swindon Town

Goalkeeping Coach Steve Mildenhall is set to leave his role at Bristol Rovers as goalkeeping coach and join up with League Two side Swindon Town in a similar role.

Mildenhall took up the coaching role at Rovers after five years with the club as a player making over 130 appearances for The Gas. He has only been in his role as goalkeeping for one season but has now chosen to come back to his own town club where he started his career.

The 40-year-old shot stopper has over 500 appearances to his name with a number of clubs including Yeovil Town, Millwall, Scunthorpe United, Southend, Notts County and of course Swindon Town.

Rovers do already have a goalkeeping in the form of Steve Naylor but this season ran with two at the club. It is not yet known if Rovers will seek a replacement for the former Swindon man.

The Swindon-born coach replaces Dean Thornton following his departure to link up with the Taiwan national team.
