John Ward was forced into making a couple of changes to the side that drew 1-1 at home to Oxford on Saturday. Defender Marl McChrystal and midfielder Ollie Clarke both missed out due to injury so Dave Clarkson started and Seanan Clucas made his first start since his injury whilst away on International duty.

Former Rovers striker Jamie Cureton had a chance to put Cheltenham 1-0 up but Steve Mildenhall was on hand to make a decent save. Midfielder John Joe O’Toole was once again to prove his worth with the only goal of the game 34 minutes in. He pounced on a slip by former Rovers defender Steve Elliot and fired home to give Rovers the lead.

In the second half Cheltenham defender Jombati had a chance to draw his side level after a shot had cannoned of Steve Mildenhall but the defender some how fired wide. Rovers moved up to 18th in League Two five points above the relegation zone. Next up is an away trip to Bury on Saturday.
