Accrington Stanley substitute Shaun Whalley scored a 90th minute equaliser to virtually end Rovers chances of grabbing a play off spot.

Rovers took the lead in the 58th minute in a game of very few chances. Craig Disley crossed from the right for Rovers top scorer Richard Walker to head Rovers in front. It looked as if Rovers was going to take all three points home until sub Shaun Whalley scored from 25 yards out from a free kick.

Things got worse for Rovers when Gas captain Stuart Campbell got sent off in injury time for a push on goal scorer Shaun Whalley. Campbell will now miss the next four games as this is his second suspension. The midfielder should be back in time for the JPT final against Doncaster Rovers as long as none of Rovers games get postponed. The draw leaves Rovers in 15th place, 11 points off the play offs with one game in hand.
Paul Trollope
‘If we continue to defend as we did in this match then we have no chance of making the play-offs.

‘In the last 10 or 15 minutes when we needed to defend we were giving away too many silly fouls.

‘We gave away a goal in the last minute and if things do not change then I will make changes in the team.’
