Rovers legend Alfie Biggs has sadly passed away at the age of 76.

Alfie is a true Rovers legend and was given the nickname ‘The Baron’ by Rovers fans. Alfie has maintained his ties with the club and during his time with the Gas he scored 199 goals for Rovers in 473 appearances during two spells with the club.

Alfie Biggs forged a lethal partnership with Geoff Bradford. He played a major roll in one of Rovers most famous victories, Alfie scored twice in the 4-0 win over Matt Busby’s Manchester United, a team by then nicknamed the Busby Babes, in an FA Cup Third Round Tie.

Our thoughts are with Alfie’s family.
