Eliot Richards came of the bench to help Rovers to their first win of the season away at Exeter City.

Manager Mark McGhee gave starts to new loan signing Tom Eaves and fellow striker Derek Riordan. Rovers got off to a flying start when Dave Clarkson gave Rovers the lead after just 5 minutes. The summer signing from Bristol City fired home a long ball from defender Tom Parkes.

On the stroke of half time former Rovers striker Jamie Cureton drew Exeter City Level. McGhee brought on striker Eliot Richards for Tom Eaves and it took the Welsh striker just 10 minutes to grab a goal an put Rovers 2-1 up an on course for their first win of the season. Rovers keeper Neil Etheridge i pull of a couple of fine saves to help Rovers to the win.

Rovers move up to 21st in League Two after todays win an next face Cheltenham Town in midweek.
