Riordan Returns To Scotland

Striker Derek Riordan has been sent back to Scotland and will not be given a new contract.

Riordan was signed by former Manager Mark McGhee but failed to score in the twelve appearances he made for the club. John Ward has made the decision after seeing Riordan in training and thought it was clear that the Scotsman wasnt going to pull for the team. He was played out wide on the left for a lot of his time by Mark McGhee.

Riordan signed for Rovers by McGhee in September after being with out a club since being released by Scottish side St Johnstone. The 29 year old has not scored a goal since September 2010.
