Mark McGhee made one change to the side that drew 0-0 away to Swindon Town last week. Craig Stanley replaces Matt Gill in the middle of the park, so Gary Sawyer is given the captains armband.

The first half was goalless, but Gillingham should have taken the lead but the Gillingham striker missed a good opportunity. Gillingham were then awarded a penalty for a handball by Danny Woodards, but the ball clearly hit the defenders chest. Danny Kedwell stepped up to take the spot kick only for Scott Bevan to pull off a good save and also managed to save the rebound.

The second half saw Zebroski go off at half time to be replaced by Eliot Richards. Gillingham took the lead through a well worked goal finished off by Chris Whelpdale. Gill set up Eliot Richards with a nice chip which Ricards headed home. Carayol then but Rovers 2-1 up with a fine solo run and finish. Rovers should have a penalty when Harrold was brought down in the box but referee Whitestone made another poor decision and turned the penalty down.

Just as it looked like Rovers were going to seal the three points sub Dennis Oli raced on to a long ball to lop Scott Bevan to make it 2-2. Rovers stay in 14th after the draw and next face Crewe away on Bank Holiday Monday.
