John Ward went in to today’s game against promotion chasing Fleetwood missing several key players.

Ward was missing Kenneth, Paterson, Clarkson, Broghammer and Anyinsah. With so many players missing Rovers only named five subs and handed a debut to young striker Ellis Harrison who put in an impressive display. Rovers got off to a great start taking a surprise lead after just 5 minutes. Danny Woodards fired home Ellis Harissons cross.

It got better for Rovers just before the half hour mark when Eliot Richard fired home Tom Hitchcocks pass. Hitchcock himself nearly got on the score sheet, but he headed John Joe O’Tooles cross against the woodwork. A great first half performance for Rovers. In the second half Mildenhall kept out Fleetwoods Gareth Evans, before the impressive John Joe O’Toole smashed home an 18 yard drive.

Rovers remain bottom of League Two after today’s win as all the teams around them picked up points. Next up for Rovers is Exeter City at home on Saturday.
