Rovers Manager John Ward handed debuts to all three new signings, as David Clarkson missed out through injury.

John Ward again opted to play a 4-5-1 formation with new loan signing Tom Hitchcock from QPR playing up front on his own. Rovers opened the scoring on 19 minutes when Joe Anyinsah volleyed home Fabian Broghammers corner. Just 6 minutes later Rovers were 2-0 up, the goal again come from a Fabian Broghammer corner. This time it was Matt Lund who found the top corner to extend Rovers lead.

The second half Rovers stepped off the gas and struggled to keep possession. John Joe O’Toole was having an impressive game in the centre of park and Hitchcock got through plenty of running in the loan role up top. Plymouth pulled one back when Durrell Berry’s deep cross was fired home by Conor Hourihane.

Rovers managed to see out the game and pick up a much needed three points. The game was watched by the second biggest attendance of the season and the crowd got behind the team from the first whistle. Next up for Rovers is a home tie against Gillingham on Saturday.
