Hi and welcome to a new edition of something for the weekend. I didn`t get round to a column last week having been busy with my works office move, but I am back this week and we won again.

The 3-1 away victory was a fantastic result and we now find ourselves off the foot of the table and a little bit closer to our relegation rivals. There were a few changes to the team and bench with new signing Ryan Brunt starting up front and loan Clayton McDonald on the bench along with the welcome return of David Clarkson. By all accounts it was another great team performance and once again things seemed to click into place. A goal just before half-time would have been what most of us would have hoped for and for it to be doubled not long after in the second half set us up for a great victory. Ellis Harrison scored his first goal for the club and by some accounts he has Eliot Richards to thank. Eliot had apparently played quite well but judging by some comments and the radio commentary I heard, he was walking a fine line and running the risk of being sent off before John ward made the change and put Ellis on for Eliot. Joe Anyinsah scored a third and set up another victory under John Ward since taking charge.

We are by no means out of trouble, there is still a long way to go, but the hard work, improved results and the stadium news there certainly seems to be a healthier, more positive attitude about the club and amongst the fans. Hopefully we can push on and keep this run going and we can make ourselves sooner than we may have expected just a few short weeks ago. There is still a way to go, but things look a little brighter right now. Without any more signings I think the squad is finely balanced in terms of numbers/options and don`t think we can afford any injuries or suspensions with a busy run of games coming up in February and March, starting with Barnet on Friday night.

By the time most of you read this we probably will have played Barnet and the win/draw/defeat, will have been brilliant/frustrating/disappointing. It`s a bit difficult to write about a game that hasn`t happened yet, but it certainly is/was a big game to win and would really help in the fight to stay up. Unfortunately I won`t have been at the game as I will be spending time with the girlfriend all day, being glammed up and having loads of photos taken. Not to mention I am also currently injured from a new office chair which has made it awkward to sit or stand for any amount of time.

Following on from Friday we have the re-arranged away game against Cheltenham and if we can come out of the two games with four points I am sure most of us would settle for that and keeping this good run going heading into next Saturdays trip to Oxford. I am sure we will have a decent following at both of those away games and hopefully we can continue to provide good backing and support to the boys in the quarters

Short and sweet from me this week and hopefully next time I will be talking about some more great results and performances again. Whatever you are up to this weekend, be it Football, Rugby or shopping on your free Saturday have a good one. Up The Gas
