Defender Ryan Sweeney has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21 side.

Sweeney will be part of an 18 man squad who take on Norway on Tuesday night meaning he will miss Saturdays League One clash away at Scunthorpe United. Rovers will also be missing Captain Tom Lockyer who is on International duty with the Welsh squad who take on France and Panama.

Scunthorpe have there own players on International duty, Rory McArdle has been called up to Michael O’Neill’s Northern Ireland squad for the two-legged World Cup qualifying play-off with Switzerland.

While midfielder Clayton Lewis has been called into the New Zealand side which faces a crunch World Cup qualifying play-off against Peru.
