Former Bristol Rovers striker Lee Thorpe put in a commanding performance to stop Rovers taking all three points. Thorpe now play`s as a centre back for his new club Torquay and produced a fantastic goal line clearance from a Richard Walker lob.
Hunt got his marching orders for a second yellow card after a challenge on Jamie Ward. Rovers refused to settle for a draw and nearly snatched all three points in the closing minutes. Torquay goalkeeper Nathan Abbey had to come up with a good save at his near post to deny Igoe, and Craig Hinton put a late header over the bar. It was Rovers who played all the passing football, while Torquay played typical Atkins long ball.
James Hunt will now miss Saturday`s trip to Darlington after last nights sending off.
