John Ward says his players may be suffering from tiredness after last nights 2-1 home defeat to Dagenham & Redbridge.
Rovers took the lead after just 7 minutes but two goals from Dagenham forward Adebayo Azeez gave Rovers their first defeat in six games. Ward said: ‘It was After the Lord Mayor’s Show for us following a really good display on Saturday.
‘We had gone six games unbeaten before this and couldn’t quite extend that. Too many players were below par.
‘Perhaps there was an element of tiredness. We were not as sharp as we have been in recent games so we cannot have any complaints.
‘I tried to freshen things up with some substitutions, but it didn’t work out for us.
‘We have picked ourselves up from setbacks before and I have no doubt the players will do so again because they are a strong group.’>
Rovers slipped to 16th in League Two after last nights defeat and next face Hartlepool away on Saturday.
