John Ward started his second spell as Bristol Rovers manager with a draw away to Aldershot Town.

Ward started with Jo Anyinsah and Fabian Broghammer on either wing with Tom Eaves playing up front on his own in a 4-5-1 formation. Aldershot took the lead in the first half through Micheal Hector and went in at half time leading. Just 9 minutes into the second half Rovers equalised from the spot after Aaron Morris fouled Tom Eaves. It was Dave Clarkson who slotted home from the spot.

Aldershot took the lead again when Tom Parkes fouled in the area, Craig Reid slotted home. It looked like John Ward was heading for defeat on his return to Rovers, but striker Eliot Richards came to the rescue with just 3 minutes remaining.

Rovers remain bottom of League Two after today’s draw and next face one of John Wards old clubs Cheltenham Town away on Saturday.
