Bristol Rovers were defeated 4-1 away to Crawley Town yesterday, Rovers heaviest defeat of the season.

Rovers made three changes to their side with striker Matt Harrold replacing Scott McGleish up front, Stuart Campbell came in place of Craig Stanley. In defence, new signing Danny Woodwards started at right back instead of Michael Smith.

Rovers went 1-0 down in side the first 15 minutes,Tyrone Barnett slotting home. It was 2-0 before the half hour mark, Ben Smith headed home. It did not get any better for Rovers in the second half, Matt Tubbs made it 3-0 with a great free kick.

Lee Brown did pull a goal back, his cross beat the Crawley keeper and found the top corner, but Tyrone Barnett restored Crawley’s 3 goal lead to make it 4-1.

Rovers next fixture is an away trip to Wycombe in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.
