Darrell Clarke insists that any player that is not up for the fight will not play for him as he bids to take Rovers back in to the Football League at the first time of asking.

Clarke held meetings with each of his players and was left feeling positive afterwards, but he has warned if he feels any of players aren’t up for the fight then they wont play.

“If any player comes to me and says that they want to leave the club then it is probably in the best interests of all concerned if they do. Said Clarke to TIB

“If anybody doesn`t want to be here then they better go ahead an get themselves fixed up elsewhere and make sure any offer that comes in is right for our football club.

“It is my job to see where the mind-sets of the players are and if I get an inkling that anybody is not ready for the fight ahead then they won`t be playing for me.

“The individual meetings I had with the players earlier this week to discuss the future, though, were certainly encouraging.

“The drive and desire they showed to want to put things right after what has been a terrible season for us is something that gives me tremendous hope.”

After yesterday’s meeting Clarke released twelve players including first team regulars David Clarkson, Seanan Clucas and Danny Woodards.
