Young goalkeeper Matt Macey is on the verge of signing for Premiership side Arsenal.

The 18 year old has impressed whilst on trial with the Premiership side and it looks as if Arsenal will make the deal permanent. Matt began playing youth football as an eight year old, when played for a local Bath side called Avon Arsenal. He had a trial with the Rovers Centre of Excellence in 2007, but was not signed as it was felt he lacked experience. This led him to play youth football for both Bath City and Yate Town before he eventually signed for Bristol Rovers two years later.

Rovers will be due compesastion if Macey does sign for Arsenal
