Former Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert has been named in Roy Hodgson England squad to go to the World Cup in Brazil.

Lambert was named in the 23 man England squad today as one of four strikers going to Brazil. Rovers paid Rochdale £200,000 for Lambert in the summer of 2006, Lambert went on to score 59 goals in 138 starts for Rovers before being sold.

Lambert moved to then League One side Southampton for £1 million.

Celtic’s Goalkeeper Fraser Forster has also been included in Roy Hodgson’s squad. Forster played four times for Rovers back in 2008 whilst on loan from Premiership side Newcastle.
