Redevelopment Delays

Mixed feelings from Gasheads this morning after the announcement that the Memorial Stadium’s redevelopment will not start until May next year and will not be finished until very late in 2009.

It has been quite frustrating for some fans sorting out their season tickets and making plans to travel to Whaddon Road for part of the season, however with a brand new stadium to come out of it most fans were more overwhelmed than annoyed.

I’m sure most fans will be pleased to be at the Memorial Stadium for our first season back in League 1, but disappointed with the delays. It begs the question that wouldn’t it of been easier to carry out the works ‘out of season’ anyway.

I for one had already arranged the travel to Whaddon Road and cant wait for the new stadium, the sooner the better in my opinion.
