Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert has been sold to Southampton for £800,000.
Lambert who was Rovers leading scorer last season with 29 goals move’s to the League One side for an initial £800,000 but the fee could raise to £1 million.
Rickie signed for Rovers in 2006 and has scored 60 goals for The Gas in his three season’s. Rovers will have to pay Rochdale 25% over the £200,000 Rovers paid for him back in the summer of 2006. Lambert scored Rovers only goal in their 2-1 deafeat to Leyton Orient.
