Trialist Danny Rose is glad to be given a chance at Rovers.

Rose was released from Manchester United at the end of last season after skippering the reserve side before going on loan to Oxford. Rose is from Bristol and was on Bristol City’s books before moving North To Manchester United.

But know he is back in his home town he intends to stay here.

Rose told the bristol Evening Post ‘I was with Bristol City before I went to Manchester, and when I was about my brother’s age I also trained with Rovers, though I never signed for them. But it’s a good feeling to be back.

‘There has been interest in me from some Championship clubs and also from abroad, but I think League One is probably about right for me at this stage of my career.

‘I have got to learn my trade and if I start at this level then hopefully I could work my way back up.

‘I’ve had a lot of phone calls and texts from friends here and my old school mates wishing me luck – they are all Rovers fans. So if I can make it here and get a contract they can watch me playing – it would be pretty special.’

First Team Coach Paul Trollope has so far been impressed with Rose, could Rose be the player that gets that number 6 shirt that has been left free?

I think that number 16 shirt may well just be for him!!

I thought he was a little bit light weight whilst on loan at Oxford.

might be the sort of player we need to add more competition. as for the light weight comment you have to remember he is still a kid, perhaps not being strong enough was the reason why he was released. still must be one hell of a player to be captain of ManUre’s reserves though!

He is a good player and has good feet. He has the pace to get forward and will chip in with a few goals.
