Bristol Rovers are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Ellis Harrison in the five nil victory over Northampton Town at the weekend at the Memorial Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Harrison was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Not one, not two, not even three…it was an afternoon to remember for Ellis Harrison, who notched four goals against Northampton Town. The Welsh Under-21 international even got an assist for teeing up Billy Bodin’s opener before taking centre stage for the Gas.’

Manager Darrell Clarke was also selected as the manager of the best eleven in the weekends action.

‘Completing a Bristol Rovers double this week, Clarke takes the Manager of the Week honours for guiding his side to the 5-0 win over Northampton. The Pirates raced out of the blocks and never looked back, putting the Cobblers to the sword at the Memorial Stadium.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to both for their recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Marko Marosi (Doncaster Rovers), Shaun Pearson (Grimbsy Town), Ricardo Santos (Barnet), Kieron Freeman (Sheffield United), Kevin Ellison (Morecambe), Stephen Dawson (Scunthorpe United), Josh Cullen (Bradford City), Ben Whiteman (Mansfield Town), Matty Godden (Stevenage), Kurtis Guthrie (Colchester United), Ellis Harrison (Bristol Rovers).

Manager – Darrell Clarke (Bristol Rovers).
