Bristol Rovers are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Ellis Harrison in the six nil victory over Northampton Town at the weekend at the Kassam Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid and manager Clarke was selected as gaffer of the team aswell.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why the duo were selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

Harrison:

‘Numerous Bristol Rovers players were worthy of inclusion after their 6-0 demolition of Northampton Town. Harrison gets the nod after netting twice in the rout, and there’s a special mention for his boss, too…’

Clarke:

‘Clarke takes the Manager of the Week honour after guiding the Gas to that emphatic victory. Without his first choice centre-back pairing, he reshuffled his pack to devastating effect, keeping a first clean sheet this term and romping to success.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to both for their recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Dave Richards (Crewe Alexandra), Dan Potts (Luton Town), Dan Burn (Wigan Athletic), Richard Wood (Rotherham United), Pierce Sweeney (Exeter City), Ebere Eze (Wycombe Wanderers), Jake Reeves (Bradford City), Sean Murray (Colchester United), Ben Whiteman (Doncaster Rovers), James Henry (Oxford United), Ellis Harrison (Bristol Rovers).

Manager – Darrell Clarke (Bristol Rovers).
