Bristol Rovers are hoping to sign Swindon Town striker Billy Paynter.
Rovers are believed to have made a offer of around £100,000 for he 25 year old who is out of contract in the summer. Paynter has 14 goals this season and is Swindon’s top scorer. A lot depends on Swindon’s efforts to bring in Crawley striker Charlie Ademeno. Crawley have rejected Swindon’s latest offer but are thought to preparing a fresh offer for the 21 year old.
Paynter who has had spells at Hull, Bradford and Port Vale has scored 36 times in 94 starts for Swindon and has 6 in his last 8 games.

It’s been the topic on conversation for the last week. Surely this won’t happen. Oh and I highly doubt the Ademano deal will have anything to deal with Paynter.
Personally, I think he is over rated myself. Not bothered one way or another. He is no Rickie Lambert.
