Bristol Rovers suffered another defeat,this time away to Oxford United.

Manager Paul Buckle again made changes to the starting line up, Gary Sawyer made his first start to the season sarting at centre back and new loan signing Scott Rendall starting up front. Leading scorer Matt Harrold was once again on the bench a long with Oliver Norburn who has yet to make a start since signing on loan from Leicester City.

Scott Rendall nearly gave Rovers the lead, but former Rovers keeper ryan Clarke saved with his feet. It was Oxford who took the lead 16 minutes in when James Constable scored after a good run from Simon Heslop’s. Peter Leven made it 2-0 from the penalty spot after Byron Anthony had fouled in the area. Oxford continued to press forward and made it 3-0 when James Constable added his second.

Rovers slipped to 17th in League and next face Rotherham when Friday night football returns to The Memorial Stadium.
