Bristol Rovers are targeting Forest Green Rovers striker Stuart Fleetwood.

The former Hereford striker has been in fine form for Blue Square Premiership side scoring 17 goals in 13 appearances. The move comes after Paul Trollope missed out on Wycombe striker Jermaine Easter who moved to Plymouth.

Lennie Lawrence knows the young striker well through his time at Cardiff, where Fleetwood made his league debut. He has also had a spell at Hereford, but became ill and had limited chances after losing over 2 stone in weight.

Showed a lot of potential with us, but maybe a bit too lightweight. his pace was frightening even then!

Would be a gamble but looks like Lennie knows him well. Adds competition plus his confidence infront of goal must be sky high!

got to be worth a gamble then, he needs to share his dieting tips though lol

If you dont take the gamble you will never know. But you do need somebody to start scoring soon.

I hope if someone does get him that he goes straight in and gets a good run in the side even if he doesn’t spark from the off. We (H’pool) bought Mike Mackay in January gone, granted the northern league isn’t the conference but 43 goals by xmas where lads get £200 a game is tidy. And what happens? Left to rot by Danny Wilson…. and he’s turning 25. I’m talking about the lad who scored the disallowed goal in the last game of the season… a right likely lad. Sharp, eye for goal and clever. But our lovely Mr. Wilson bungs him in the reserves…….. and he scores a stack. I hope if you do get him, Fleetwood runs amock. All the best, a super poolie..
