Bristol City striker Phil Jevons is a summer transfer target for Bristol Rovers.

Sources at the Memorial Stadium have confirmed that the 27 year old striker is a target. Jevons still has one year left on his contract, but Gary Johnson maybe willing to let the striker go as he looks to strengthen his strike force.

The 27-year-old began his career at Everton where he won the FA Youth Cup and played in the Premiership.

Rovers’ current director of football Lennie Lawrence then paid £250,000 to take him to Grimsby when he was Manager at Blundell Park, but it was under Johnson at Yeovil Town that he really made an impact, scoring 45 times in 95 appearances.

If Rovers secure Richard Walkers long term future and the signature of Jevons it would give Rovers more attacking options which some say we have lacked this season.

Gary Johnson says there is no chance and its all “cheap Journalism” so it looks like it isnt going to happen after all.
