Rovers Want More For Season Tickets

In a shock announcement today, Bristol Rovers have increased the cost of their season tickets to the 2007 – 2008 prices.

Fans were left reeling after reading the article on the Official Website. Many fans had thought that the price would remain the same after the statement released by the club informing fans they would not be playing at Cheltenham Town this season.

It was even hoped by many, that Bristol Rovers would actually reduce tickets costs to improve ticket sales after other clubs adopted this method.

It is now suspected that the gate sales will remain low for the season causing more financial difficulties to the club, some even think we will have a record low after the redevelopment fell through and followers of the Gas lost faith in the club.

Current Season Ticket holders will not be affected by this, as they purchased their tickets early they will remain at the subsidised price and will be refunded their £46 travel.

Bristol Rovers have started transferring the tickets to the Memorial Stadium and tickets will be back on sale on Monday at 9am from Pirate Leisure or the Supporters Club.

Personally I feel that the club would benefit from offering reduced price season tickets as a way to improve relations with fans and increase sales…… I don’t think they are listening to me though.

I certainly wont be buying one, neither will my partner, father or brother in law. This is a disgraceful way to run a football club. IMO they would rather sell the ground to a property developer than make the effort to improve this great club. We would make much more money if we did the £125 for £125. I feel screwed over YET AGAIN

I think a lot of clubs need to look at reducing season ticket prices. Fans can no longer afford to follow clubs home and away week in week out. A lot more clubs will be struggling financially in years to come because the next generation of fans just will not come through.

i agree totally Dazza, it’s a shame as we have always been football lovers in my family and this will be the first year that i can remember that i have not bought a ST. Good luck with the vital league win btw

Well i’m not standing next to someone who has bought their ticket cheaper, they should of kept the deadline for the 7th July allowing other fans to benefit from the reduction. Yet another way that the board have managed to ***** me off, i think they are going for a record. I’m only going to away games this season and i refuse to buy the new season shirt, instead i’m getting a black arab one from that other website. Why should i make Bradshaws wallet any bigger
