Ryan Sweeney Called Up To Republic of Ireland Under 21

Defender Ryan Sweeney has been called up the the Republic Of Ireland Under 21’s side.

Sweeney has been selected in the squad for the U21 European Championships Qualifying game against Kosovo on Saturday 25th March, meaning Ryan will miss Rovers clash away to Coventry City on the same day.

Sweeney signed for Rovers in the January transfer window on loan from Premiership side Stoke City and has been an ever present in the side since, making 10 appearances to date. The 19 year old has formed a solid partnership at the heart of the Rovers defence along side Tom Lockyer.
