Former Sunderland striker Oumare Tounkara is set to sign a short term contract with Bristol Rovers.
The 22 year is currently a free agent after being released by Premiership side Sunderland where he did not make an appearance for the club. He did have a season long loan spell with League One side Oldham Athletic where he scored 8 times in 52 appearances. Rovers are short on striking options with both Ryan Brunt and David Clarkson injured.
It’s thought Tounkara will be offered a contract until the end of the season, with a view to it being extended if both parties are happy.
