Paul Trollope left Elland Rd on Saturday gutted after conceding a goal with only six minutes to go.

Rovers held their own against high flying Leeds for most of the game but a deflected shot from Jonathan Howson broke the hearts of the traveling Gasheads.

Trollope said to the Evening Post: ‘I was proud of the commitment the players put in. Our game plan worked well but we didn’t take our chances.

‘We’ve come away with nothing and that sums us up over the last few months. Leeds sent more players forward in the end and a lucky deflection brought their goal, which is even more disappointing.

‘We are looking to add to our squad in January because we are just above the relegation zone. We feel it is a false position in terms of our play. But it is where we deserve to be because of our lack of goals.’

Rovers now face an important game against Luton Town on Boxing Day. The Hatters are currently 22nd in League One, but have had 10 points deducted after being placed into administration.

It was hard to take, is was gutted leaving Elland Rd. But also thought there was a lot of good points to be taken from the game.
