Paul Trollope has hailed his side for they defeated Premiership side Fulham. Rovers won 5-3 on penalties after drawing 0-0 in the previous 120 minutes and Trollope says he is so proud.

Trollope said to the Evening Post ‘I’m hugely proud. It was a great performance and to win with five penalties like that was great.

‘It’s a Premiership scalp and again we’ve reached the fourth round of the FA Cup, which we did last season.

‘We defended well when we had to and produced some good moves going forward. We were a bit disappointed not to be ahead at half-time but we knew we’d get chances. We came strong at the end and in the second half of extra time. The players’ application was fantastic.

‘They picked who was going to take the penalties themselves and chose the order – and they did the business.’

Steve Phillips saved the first spot kick from Jimmy Bullard, every Rovers player scored their kicks.

Rovers now have to travel to Barnet, who defeated Swindon on penalties.
