1) When did you become a Rovers fan and why?
I have been a Rovers fan for at least 20 years (passed onto me from my father and his father and his father etc), but I wasnt a supporter in the sense of watching the gas until I was around the age of 12, watching the od game here and there. It was only until more recently that I actually watched the gas on a regular basis (since I started work – Parents didnt have the money to let me go regularly) I am now a full season ticket holder and have been watching the gas at home on every occasion for the last 5 years or so.
2) What do you think of this season, do we have a chance to push for the play offs or will we slip towards the wrong end of the table?
We had a superb start to the season and I have to be honest, I was getting rather excited! However, I believe we are now just about where we should be and what I would have expected for the most part this season. I do believe we still have a chance of making the last play-off spot, but it will be tought with the likes of Southampton and Millwall roaming around us at the same time. It doesnt make much room for error and unfortunately I dont believe we quite have the squad and ability to do so. Next season with a few additions, we may well have a good season.
3) Best moment of this season so far?
Home: Beating Huddersfield. Away: Cardiff was a good day out!
4) Worst moment of this season so far?
Going to Wycombe and watching Rovers play as bad as I have ever seen!
5) Do you expect any arrivals this January and if you could bring in a player or two, who (realistically) would you go for?
I would love to see us bring in a striker and defender, and I think we will get at least one of the two in this January! The bloke from Swindon would be a decent signing (As long as it doesnt involve swapping JK!) And Baldwin would have been a great signing but unfortunately that looks as good as dead now. I would be happy with any decent defender as we are short in that region and short on the bench!
6) Which player/s should Rovers sign this summer? And do you think Rovers will spend enough this summer to progress
Rovers need a millionaire to come in and chuck a few quid in for several different areas of the squad. We need at least 500k IMO just to get two top quality players and make a real push for it. I am of course dreaming and would settle for two players costing around the 100-200k mark just because that is all we can afford.
7) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?
We are out of all comps so there is no silver to look forward to, so it looks like a push for a play-off place would be all we can look to do. Im not sure if we can make it, and it depends on the signings we make this year but I think we would have a better chance next season.
8) Your opinion on Paul Trollope now he is mid way through his 5th season in charge?
You cannot really say anything against Trolls. He has made steady progress so far and has improved us greatly from previous years. We have had a decent cup run in the FA Cup, finals of the paint pot trophey and of course play-offs final to sit nicely on his CV. He is a promising manager and I believe, given more time, he will get us out of this league in the not to distant future.
a) And your opinion on Lennie Lawrence?
His job is to sign players right? So far he has done well with some signings and not so so well with others. On the whole, I believe he has helped Trolls out greatly, but without knowing exactly what he does, im afraid I can not comment further.
9) Your opinion on Nick Higgs and his board?
Nick seems to be genuine and is doing his best to get our stadium going. He has splashed out some cash since taking over and seems to have the club close to his heart. I like the bloke, so no problems for me.
10) Favourite current player?
If I have to pick, it would probably be Hughes, but i dont really have a favourite to be honest.
11) Favourite former player/s?
Lambert from recent days…Vitalijs Astafjevs all time most probably.
12) And finally which celebrity would you most like to bang and which celeb would you most like to thump?
I dont know who i most would like to bang..anyone who would have me! Thump Noel Gallagher
