Defender Tom Broadbent became Rovers sixth summer signing.

The 25 year old has been on trial with Rovers and was taken on the tour to Portugal and has impressed Darrell Clarke enough to be offered a contract. Broadbent operates mostly at centre-back and has also represented the Army in football, playing in May as they beat the RAF and the Royal Navy to retain the Inter Services Football title.

Former Lance Bombardier Tom Broadbent has played for Farnborough and most recently, Hayes and Yeading. Broadbent has been serving since 2012 and in July 2014 Tom found himself alongside his regiment doing a nine month tour of Afghanistan based at Camp Bastion.
