Green On Sweden Tour

Paul Trollope has today said that defender Ryan Green will be joining the team in next week’s tour games in Sweden.

This is very good news for Ryan following a lack of games last season due to his Achilles injury.

Green said to Bristol Rovers website
“I hope to be in full training by next week. I would say that I’m a couple of weeks behind the other players, in terms of my fitness, but I’ve been doing a lot of work with Phil Kite and I’ve been joining in the ball work with the rest of the lads. I just haven’t been able to take part in the long distance running and the twisting and turning.”

Green has returned from three weeks at Lilleshall, where he took part in intensively recovery and training from 9.00am – 5.00pm.

Trollope said to the club website

‘He’s joined in some bits of technique and is doing some functional running with Phil Kite.’

‘Ryan will travel to Sweden with us and hopefully, all being well, we will see him in action in the second or third game of the tour.’

With Green on the mend, the only other injury worry for the pirates will be potential new signing Andrews who is still suffering from the knee injury he picked up on loan last season.

Looks good for us at the moment. All we need is one hell of a run to kick start the season and we are in serious business

Green does owe the fans a lot too due to how he got his broken jaw. Hope he has a cracking season now!

Lescott has done well, but i imagine Green will get his place back in the side after he has played a few games. Shame really as im a fan of Lescott.

I don’t think that will be the end to our injury list, we always pick up a few in the pre season friendlies, its typical of rovers
